Celebrate with us!

Pearl is commemorating San Antonio’s vibrant culture with a range of community events in September through mid-October in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Visitors and the local community can partake in an array of art, culinary, and cultural festivities throughout the Pearl neighborhood. The lineup includes a spirited kickoff for Dieciséis de Septiembre, a unique “Mercadito Cultural”, a collaborative mural with MMCreativeStudio, art exhibits, culinary celebrations and much more.

Viva Dieciseis at Pearl

Pearl is celebrating Dieciséis de Septiembre, or the Sixteenth of September, honoring Mexico’s Independence from Spain. The celebration will include live musical performances, a grito contest, and activities for the kids including Lotería, guitar painting and more. Viva Dieciséis at Pearl kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month at Pearl.

Pearl and Esta Noche Dance Company partner to bring free, high-energy dance classes to Pearl Park! Classes are open to the public and will feature a mix of bachata and salsa classes geared toward all levels. You don’t need a partner to enjoy class or, if you don’t want to participate feel free to sit back and enjoy the music.

Ven a Tomar
Wednesday, Sept. 27th | 6:00pm-9:00pm | Carriqui

 

In partnership with UTSA Libraries and the Consulado General de México en San Antonio, Carriqui will host Ven a Tomar, where guests will sample mezcal, cocktails and unique bites while learning from Mezcal expert Pedro Jiménez Gurría. Photographs from UTSA Libraries’ Mexican Spirits Collection will also be on display for viewing.

CALAVERA COLLECTION

 


September 20th – October 1st

 

Find a collection of Calaveras from Chef Johnny Hernandez and La Gloria. Each Calavera is crafted by local artist and will be a preview for Dia de los Muertos throughout San Antonio.

ALEBRIJE EXPO

 

October 4th – October 8th

 

Pearl will feature Alebrijes for the first time from Chef Johnny Hernandez and La Gloria. These spirit creatures will light up Pearl from October 4th – October 8th in 1100 Springs Plaza.

CULTURA ORGULLO CORAZON MURAL

 

September 14th – October 15th

 

Pearl and MMCreative Studio will present a colorful mural meant to capture the spirit of San Antonio through three powerful words: Cultura. Orgullo. Corazón. which translates to Culture. Pride. Heart.

La Gloria

Join La Gloria for a month of celebration through food and drink including a Chiles en Nogada Festival September 13th to 19th,  Asador Norteno September 13th to 14th, and a Celebration de Ceviche October 5th to 7th. La Gloria will also highlight Guest Chef Jhojans Pirego Zarate from Veracruz Mexico of Mariscos Villarica Restaurant  for a Festival del Pulpo.

Carriqui

Carriqui will kick-off celebrations on September 16 with a special performance from Las Coronelas starting at 4 p.m. During Hispanic Heritage Month, Tequila Tuesdays will feature half-priced margaritas and Mezcal, tequila & wine tastings.

Botika

Botika will offer their signature “Spicy Pineapple Frozen Margarita” for $10 during the month of September and will also feature “tequenhos”, Venezuelan cheese fritters, as an homage to the Hispanic influence in the restaurant’s cuisine.

Boiler House

Boiler House will host a Tips & Tastings event on September 13 which will feature a selection of wine tastings and small bites, as well as a Tequila Dinner on September 28, showcasing Codigo tequila. The restaurant will also feature a Brisket Empanada appetizer throughout the month which includes avocado, queso fresco, pickled onions and roasted salsa.
