The Prickly Pear Agua Fresca (Agua Fresca de Tuna in Spanish) is a light, fruity drink that’s quick to make and naturally vibrant in color. Perfect for those hot summer days, it combines the sweet flavor of a prickly pear with lime and water for a refreshing sip. Did you know: Prickly Pear is known as Tuna Spanish?
Make sure to pick up freshly picked Prickly Pears from Clarke’s Greens at the Saturday Pearl Famers Market through October.
Prickly Pear Agua Fresca Recipe
Makes ~1 quart | 5 min
Ingredients

2 cups prickly pear juice

3 cups cold water

2–4 Tbsp fresh lime juice

2–4 Tbsp sugar or honey (to taste)

Pinch of salt
Steps

Stir everything in a pitcher until dissolved.

Chill 30 minutes if you can; serve over ice.
Optional: Swap some water for sparkling water.
