January 14, 2026

San Antonio is packed with incredible dining experiences, and Pearl is at the very heart of the city’s culinary scene. But sometimes, you just need a budget-friendly bite (especially when that one friend wants to do spontaneous afternoon plans). From riverside snacks to casual dinners, there are plenty of affordable eats at Pearl that don’t require the splurge.

Pearl Tip: Park for free in all Premium Surface Lots from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Larder at Hotel Emma

Tucked into the ground floor of the ultra-luxe Hotel Emma, Larder serves up delicious prepared foods for a fraction of the cost of a formal dinner. A favorite for locals and visitors alike, it’s open for breakfast and lunch (7 a.m. to 7 p.m., daily). We highly recommend grabbing a house-cured ham-and-egg English muffin for $9, or one of their freshly made sandwiches, to enjoy by the river.

Must Try: Pair one of its seasonal espresso beverages with a salmon breakfast sandwich on an English muffin for a total around $20—you won’t be disappointed.

Pullman Market

From Larder, make your way across the lawn and head towards the cobblestone path leading you to the Pullman Market. In addition to its award-winning eateries, the market is home to high-quality, fast-casual food stalls offering something for every craving.

Burgers by the Butcher delivers serious flavor with The Chop Cheese ($16)—Texas Wagyu on a hoagie with American cheese, garlic aioli, shredded lettuce, onion, and tomato. Pro tip: Order a side of hand-cut fries with Pullman Spice for an extra $5 (easily shared for two!).

Greens & Grains offers the perfect plant-based option with their Chickpeas & Hummus grain bowl for $15, making it a great choice for vegans and vegetarians.

Sabor del Mar brings coastal flavors inland with build-your-own Poke Bowls starting at $16—ideal when you’re craving a taste of the ocean.

Coffee Counter is your go-to for a quick breakfast bite. Swing by for $4 tacos and pair them with your favorite latte for a perfect start to your day.

Otto’s Ice House

Across the river lies our ode to Texas Ice House culture: Otto’s Ice House. Recently, it unveiled its latest happy hour, running from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday through Friday. During that time, you can find $9 Bites such as German Soft Pretzels, Cantina Queso, and Loaded Cheese Fries. If you want the happiest of hours, opt for The Smashburger Combo ($17.50), served with a Hill Country Deluxe Smashburger, a frosty mug of draft beer, and a shot.

The Food Hall inside The Bottling Dept. features a rotating lineup of independent vendors, making it easy to feed a group with different cravings.

If you’re in the mood for something indulgent, stop by Wonderslice for a $5 slice of high-quality pizza. And don’t miss their no-crumb-left-behind chocolate chip cookie—it’s worth a visit on its own.

For something sweet and satisfying, Freight Fried Chicken’s rotating desserts are always a hit and never disappoint. The main course is it’s irresistable fried chicken which can come al la carte or as a three-piece basket (with a side) at $16.75.

Remember, vendors at the Food Hall can rotate, so there’s always something new and affordable to discover every time you visit!

Sweet Treats

The best inexpensive eats are, of course, the sweet ones! If you’re not looking for a full meal but need a sugar fix, Pearl is a dessert lover’s paradise. Beyond the already-mentioned Bakery Lorraine macarons, Lick Honest Ice Cream serves up unique, locally-sourced flavors like Goat Cheese & Thyme or Roasted Beets & Fresh Mint, each scoop is an adventure in itself which will have you coming back for seconds.
