Pearl Chefs Selected to Join International Culinary Cohort

July 24, 2025

Hotel Emma’s Executive Chef at Supper, Geronimo Lopez, and Culinary Institute of
America’s Assistant Professor Ana Sofia Sada Cervantes will represent San Antonio as part
of the 2025–2026 UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy cohort.

Throughout the program, the chefs will be San Antonio ambassadors to regional, national,
and worldwide culinary events such as festivals and media opportunities.
We’re thrilled for our amazing chefs embarking on this new journey.

Let’s get to know Chef Geronimo and Chef Ana as they bring pride to Pearl and San Antonio.

Hailing from Caracas, Venezuela, Chef Geronimo Lopez has accumulated 30 years of
industry experience, where he has led luxury restaurants all over the world. Locals may
remember his previous project – Botika which had an eight-year run. When he’s not leading
the culinary scene at Hotel Emma, he is actively supporting the local boxing community.

Culinary Institute of America’s (CIA) Assistant Professor Ana Sofia Sada Cervantes teaches
the associate degree program and in the college’s restaurant, as well as all classes in the
bachelor’s degree Latin concentration. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys spending time
with her dogs and riding her bike around town.

Consider this your sign to make a reservation at Hotel Emma’s Supper or the CIA’s Savor
restaurant.
