Discover the Story of Pearl’s Christmas Tree

November 25, 2025

From The Great Lakes State to the Country of 1100 Springs

Standing firm in the center of Pearl Park at 35-ft tall is the holiday Fraser Fir.

Fraser Firs are native to cooler climates and are often found on private property in Michigan. Known for their strong branches, rich green needles, and classic Christmas tree shape, they’re a favorite for holiday displays. This particular tree was carefully procured by Sandones’s Christmas Tree Farm, ensuring it would be enjoyed by the entire community at Pearl.

A Tree with History

At 35 feet, this Fraser Fir is estimated to be around 40 years old. These trees grow steadily—up to 12 inches per year—which means this one has been reaching toward the sky for decades before becoming part of our holiday tradition.

Why the Fraser Fir Stands Out

  • Durability: Its branches are strong enough to hold heavy ornaments.
  • Fragrance: The fresh, crisp scent fills the air with that nostalgic holiday cheer.
  • Longevity: Fraser Firs retain their needles longer than many other varieties, making them perfect for extended celebrations.

A Symbol of Celebration

This tree isn’t just a decoration—it’s a reminder of patience, growth, and tradition. From its roots in Michigan soil to its new home 1,200+ miles away at Pearl, it carries with it a story of resilience and beauty.

So, when you stand before this magnificent Fraser Fir, take a moment to appreciate not just its size, but the decades of growth and care that brought it here.
